"Dimensions of Poverty in 1964," Part II,(a series). 1965.

This tabulation was prepared by the Bureau of the Census for OEO. It arrays the minor civil divisions and census tracts in each State on the basis of the number of families falling into the lowest three deciles of income for that State. Twelve family types are identified (families of 1 or more persons living on farms and those not living on farms). The tabulations show not only the tracts and civil divisions containing the largest numbers of poor persons but also other characteristics of those areas. Shown for each area are the numbers and the average incomes for all families of the specified types, with separate data for each decile; numbers, years of education, and percentages of employment of males between ages 25 and 64 in these families; and information regarding condition and degree of occupancy of residences by nonwhites. There is a summary description of parts I and II at the beginning of the series.
